About Rosie
Hi, I’m Rosie!
In 2020, I traded the bustle of London for the green canopy of Charlotte. Arriving in the eerie quiet of a global pandemic, I found myself deeply struck by the human stories visible on every single street corner.
With my professional background in public health and nonprofit leadership, I followed that pull straight to Roof Above, a leading provider of homeless services here in Charlotte, North Carolina. I began by simply volunteering weekly at our Uptown Day Services Center, and today, I am honored to serve as the Chair of the Board.
My journey spans every single level of this vital work. I have washed clothes, served warm meals, and sat in boardrooms strategizing at the highest level. Along the way, I have intimately shared in our community's deepest heartache and desperation, but I have also shared in the pure, unmatched joy of seeing people finally step into homes of their own.
My writing and my advocacy are deeply intertwined, firmly rooted in my belief that every human life is a unique song. Through my poetry, I document the quiet resilience of those experiencing homelessness. By blending community advocacy with creative storytelling.
For me, poetry isn't just a solo performance; it is my definitive way of listening closely and singing along with the world.
